Service Parts Universal Joint Customers

The following Genuine Spicer

light duty u-joints are now being supplied with additional snap rings with

different thicknesses. These multiple thickness snap rings (color coded for easy identification) are

provided to ensure the proper tolerance fit in various Spicer

driveline components. The U-Joint Part

Numbers affected are as follows:

5-1310X

5-1310-1X

5-1330X

5-1330-1X

5-1350X

5-1350-1X

5-1410X

5-1410-1X

5-7436X

5-7437X

5-7438X

5-7439X

The copper snap rings are most commonly used (typically the thinnest snap ring in the kit). However in

select situations, the thicker snap rings will be required for proper tolerance fit and installation. Follow

proper installation instructions when installing snap rings, and always use the same thickness/color snap

ring on the opposing bearing cap.

Note: Use proper tooling when installing a universal joint into driveline components. Verify all universal

joint components (seal protector, thrust washers, etc.) are in place prior to installation.
